Project Diablo 2 Season 14 launch date and time

Season 14 launched on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 17:00 UTC. That was 10:00 Pacific (PDT) and 20:00 Kyiv (EEST).

The PD2 Season 14 open beta ran October 19–21, after the October 10–18 closed beta. Alliance replaces Season 13, Betrayal, which began on April 24, 2026.

This overview follows the final Season 14 patch notes. The first post-launch patch has already reduced item drops from player ears and let guild officers promote initiates.

Guilds arrive in Season 14

Players can create, join and manage guilds through an in-game menu, with up to 500 members per guild. Each guild receives a dedicated Guild Hall game supporting up to 100 players. Separate halls serve softcore and hardcore, with further separation between ladder and non-ladder.

The hall includes a Guild Vault with shared items and gold. Vault tabs can require a minimum guild rank, allowing groups to control access to stored equipment. The four ranks are Initiate, Warrior, Officer and Guild Master.

Members can donate gold to the Steeg Stone to raise their guild’s tier. It also provides a sortable member list. A Trophy Case records who contributed each displayed item and when, while a Message Board lets members leave notes.

Skills and summons are disabled inside the hall.

A redesigned stash and shared gold

The stash gains dedicated Unique and Set tabs that each hold one copy of every item in their category. The former materials tab is divided into Gems, Runes, Bossing and Misc, while a Map tab holds white maps and map materials.

Search filters apply to the compendium tabs, and tab affinity can automatically direct deposits to the appropriate category. A Deposit Materials button moves stackable materials into their associated tabs. Personal gold is removed, and the shared gold stash cap rises to 25 million.

Stackable items no longer have separate stacked and unstacked versions. They can be inserted into sockets directly from a stack, and stack-related recipes no longer require keys.

The new Discovery collection challenge marks self-found uniques and sets. Items must be identified in the game where they dropped; party finds also require being in the same act at the moment of the drop. Completing the collection unlocks the Discovery Aura.

Class and skill changes

Blessed Hammer passes through walls and objects, removing a terrain restriction when fighting in narrow areas. Other Paladin changes include a 20% larger Smite splash radius, life and mana steal support for Smite, and Fist of the Heavens holy bolts damaging enemies along their path.

The balance pass reaches the other classes too:

  • Amazon: Multiple Shot starts with five arrows instead of three, its maximum rises from 24 to 25, and its damage scaling increases.
  • Assassin: Shadow Warrior automatically applies Assassin buffs that the player has active, while Lightning Sentry and Chain Lightning Sentry receive shorter AI delays.
  • Barbarian and Druid: Leap Attack gains stronger damage scaling and synergies; Dire Wolves gain physical resistance pierce, while several wind skills receive damage increases.
  • Necromancer and Sorceress: Several curses receive stronger base effects. Blaze now lets the player walk through enemies, and Static Field’s current life damage drops from 25% to 8%.

For the affected Necromancer curses, item procs are adjusted to preserve their previous effects; monster-cast values remain unchanged. These are selected changes, and their practical effect will depend on complete builds.

Runes, runewords and items

Pul now grants 75% Enhanced Defense in chest armor, helms, shields and quivers, up from 50%.

Gloom gains +1 to maximum curses. It loses damage taken gained as mana, its Faster Hit Recovery becomes a fixed 20%, and its increased curse resistance rises from 20% to 30–40%.

New jewel prefixes grant 2–5% fire, lightning, cold or poison damage. A separate prefix grants 2–3% magic damage, extending the change beyond the elemental categories.

Four new runewords are listed: Madness for four-socket weapons, Finesse for three-socket armor, Deception for three-socket helms and Jealousy for three-socket Amazon throwing weapons. Matriarchal Javelins gain a maximum of three sockets.

The notes also list 18 Special Edition item appearances with a rare chance to spawn, including Ormus’ Robes and Herald of Zakarum.

Three new maps join the rotation

The Poisoned Well joins Tier 1, while The Descent from Mount Arreat and The Fortress of Aranoch join Tier 2. Each is listed without immunities for its first season in rotation.

A monsters-remaining tracker is also added to maps and corrupted zones. Its countdown begins only after most of the area has been revealed and fewer than 100 monsters remain.

Is Season 14 a good time to start Project Diablo 2?

Alliance is worth considering if you want a fresh ladder alongside expanded group tools and more structured item storage. Guild permissions and collection tracking give returning groups and collectors specific new systems to explore.
