About MrSoloz D2R TXT

MrSoloz D2R TXT is a standalone Windows utility for viewing and editing the text tables that drive Diablo II: Resurrected. Published on Nexus Mods in March 2026 by MrSoloz, it is one of the few table tools written after the game’s release rather than inherited from classic modding. Its author describes it as a viewer and editor with quality-of-life additions for easy reading and quick changes, and in practice it is a modern D2R txt editor with a spreadsheet grid, frozen headers, bulk operations and full undo.

Why D2R data tables need a special editor

Item stats, skills, monsters, treasure classes, levels and cube recipes are all defined in tab-separated text files. They look like spreadsheets, but general office programs often damage them by reinterpreting values or saving in a different layout. Many of the files are also extremely wide, with well over a hundred columns, so the header and the name column scroll out of sight almost immediately. A tool built for D2R data tables keeps every cell as plain text and keeps the labels on screen while you move through the file.

What the D2R txt editor offers

Files open in an Excel-style grid, and several can be open at once in tabs. Rows and columns can be frozen so that headers and record names stay visible. Cells are edited in place, with copy and paste, row insertion and deletion, and selection by dragging or by clicking row and column headers. Rows and columns can be marked with a visual indicator to keep track of what you are working on, a find function is available on Ctrl+F, and font size and a bold text mode can be adjusted for readability. A workspace panel shows a file tree of your working folder, the panels are resizable and the window opens maximised.

Bulk value changes

The feature that sets it apart from older editors is numeric adjustment across a selection. Selected cells can be changed by an absolute amount or by a percentage, or set to one value in a single step. That turns common balance edits into a few clicks: raising a whole column of drop weights by a fixed percentage, lowering monster health across a difficulty, or setting a requirement to zero for a group of items. Undo and redo cover both ordinary edits and these operations, so an experiment can be reversed immediately.

Files, saving and backups

The program opens .txt, .tsv, .csv, .tab and .dat files and detects the delimiter automatically, whether tab, comma, pipe or semicolon. Changes can be saved to the original path or under a new name, and a backup folder option keeps earlier copies. Because the game itself expects tab-separated tables, it is worth opening a saved file once in a plain text editor after your first session to confirm the layout is unchanged before building a mod on it.

Where it fits in a modding workflow

Original tables are extracted from the game’s storage with CascView; they sit in the excel folder under the global data directory. Edited copies go into a mod folder with the same path and are loaded with the game’s mod launch options, or packaged for D2RMM. Names and descriptions shown in game are stored separately in JSON string files, which is the job of D2RStrEdit. The long-established alternative for the tables themselves is AFJ Sheet Editor, which is lighter and has been proven over many years.

Version and status

The tool was first uploaded on 18 March 2026 and last updated on 24 March 2026. The file is listed as version 1.0.0, and the changelog for 1.0.1 notes fixes for arrow-key navigation and the ability to close tabs. A ready-made Windows executable is included, so nothing needs to be installed. It is available from its Nexus Mods page.

Limitations

This is a very young project from a single author, with only one small update so far, so expect rough edges and report problems on its page. It does not explain what the columns mean or check values against other tables; a separate column reference, such as the official data guide for Resurrected, is still needed. No source code link is given on the page. As with any utility from a mod site, keep copies of your working tables and let the backup option do its job.

Who should use it

It suits Resurrected modders who spend long sessions in large tables and want frozen headers, quick bulk edits and undo, as well as players making personal balance tweaks who find raw text files hard to read. Classic LoD modders can use it too, since the table format is the same, though established tools already cover that ground.

D2 Horadric editorial view

A fresh, practical take on an old task. Frozen rows and columns, percentage and absolute adjustments, bulk value setting, multi-tab editing and undo make table work noticeably quicker than in the classic editors. Its youth, single small update, lack of validation and unknown long-term support keep the score moderate for now, but it is a promising tool that is well worth trying alongside the established options.
