About Expanded Stash (16×13) for D2RMM

Expanded Stash (16×13) for D2RMM is a quality-of-life storage mod for Diablo II: Resurrected that enlarges the player stash to a 16-column, 13-row grid, giving single-player and offline modded characters far more room for runes, bases, uniques, sets, charms and crafting materials without resorting to a small army of mule characters.

This D2RMM 16×13 stash expansion is authored by olegbl, was first uploaded in February 2022, and has been actively maintained since, most recently reaching v1.16 on 23 February 2026 with added controller-UI improvements. It runs as an addon through D2RMM Mod Manager rather than as a standalone install, and requires D2RMM 1.7.0 or newer.

What Expanded Stash (16×13) for D2RMM changes

The core change is the stash grid itself, expanded from the base game’s dimensions to 16 columns by 13 rows across every stash tab. Around that, the mod adds automatic stash tab unlocking so the extra space is usable immediately, a stash tab renaming feature for organizing storage by item type or character, and automatic save file backup generation as a safety net before the expanded layout is applied.

Interface and accessibility support

Expanded Stash (16×13) for D2RMM supports Keyboard+Mouse play across Classic, Lord of Destruction and Reign of the Warlock, along with a dedicated Controller UI and a Low Vision accessibility mode. Steam Deck and other handheld displays at 720p are partially supported, with the author noting minor visual artifacts at that resolution. The mod does not support the original non-HD graphics mode or aspect ratios outside 16:9 and 16:10.

Installing Expanded Stash (16×13) for D2RMM

The official Expanded Stash (16×13) for D2RMM download is hosted on Nexus Mods. With D2RMM 1.7.0 or newer installed, extract the mod into the D2RMM /mods/ folder, enable it in the D2RMM mod list, and click Install Mods before launching Diablo II: Resurrected. The mod’s own backup-generation feature creates a save file backup as part of this process, which is worth keeping until the new stash layout has been confirmed working.

Known issues and compatibility notes

Community reports since the Reign of the Warlock patch have been minor and short-lived: one player saw a fully transparent stash after updating, which the author traced to a failed installation and resolved by reinstalling the mod, and a separate stash-access crash turned out to be an unrelated missing D2RMM configuration parameter rather than a fault in this mod. Players running GoMule 5.10 Beta alongside this mod have reported a “Disconnected” shared-stash state, which the author attributes to GoMule rather than to Expanded Stash (16×13) for D2RMM itself. The number of shared stash tabs is not moddable and depends on Blizzard’s own account upgrades, not this mod. As with any stash-layout change, items should be moved out of the expanded areas before uninstalling the mod or switching to a different stash-size mod, to avoid item loss.

Who this mod is for

Expanded Stash (16×13) for D2RMM suits single-player and offline modded players who are running out of room for runes, crafting bases, and collected uniques and sets, and who would rather expand their existing stash than manage a rotation of mule characters. Controller and Low Vision players are explicitly supported, making this one of the more accessible stash-expansion options in the D2RMM ecosystem. Players who need Battle.net compatibility or additional official shared stash tabs should look at Blizzard’s own account-upgrade options instead, since this mod cannot add those.

D2 Horadric editorial view

Expanded Stash (16×13) for D2RMM has stayed in active, hands-on development for roughly four years, with the author both shipping Reign of the Warlock compatibility quickly and responding directly to the small handful of bug reports that followed. Combined with its accessibility features and over 2,400 Nexus endorsements, it is a solid, low-risk pick for anyone whose D2R stash has run out of space.

Key Features

  • Expands the stash grid to 16 columns by 13 rows across every stash tab
  • Automatically unlocks the extra stash space so it is usable immediately
  • Adds a stash tab renaming feature for organizing storage
  • Generates an automatic save file backup before the new layout is applied
  • Supports Keyboard+Mouse play across Classic, Lord of Destruction and Reign of the Warlock
  • Includes a dedicated Controller UI and a Low Vision accessibility mode
  • Offers partial Steam Deck / handheld support at 720p

Requirements

  • Windows PC installation of Diablo II: Resurrected
  • D2RMM Mod Manager version 1.7.0 or newer
  • HD graphics mode with a 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio (original non-HD graphics is unsupported)

Pros

  • Actively maintained for roughly four years, with quick Reign of the Warlock compatibility updates
  • Broad accessibility support, including a dedicated Controller UI and a Low Vision mode
  • Automatic save file backup reduces risk when the new stash layout is applied
  • Over 2,400 Nexus endorsements and an author who responds directly to bug reports

Cons

  • Requires D2RMM 1.7.0 or newer — not usable without the mod manager
  • Handheld/Steam Deck support at 720p has minor visual artifacts, per the author
  • Does not work with the original non-HD graphics mode or aspect ratios outside 16:9/16:10
  • Cannot add additional official shared stash tabs — those remain tied to Blizzard account upgrades
  • One reported incompatibility with GoMule 5.10 Beta's shared-stash detection (a GoMule-side issue per the author, not confirmed as fixed)
