About Increase Stack Size for D2RMM

Increase Stack Size for D2RMM is a quality-of-life addon for Diablo II: Resurrected that raises the maximum stack size for tomes, quivers, keys and throwing weapons, cutting down on trips back to town to restock consumables. It does not alter drop rates or item stats — only how many of these items a single inventory slot can hold.

Built by olegbl — the same author behind Expanded Stash (16×13) for D2RMM, Expanded Inventory (13×8) for D2RMM and Stackable Runes for D2RMM — this D2RMM stack size increase tool requires D2RMM and was first uploaded in February 2022, most recently reaching v1.4 on 13 February 2026.

How stack size customization works

The mod lets players configure a maximum stack size for each affected item category independently: tomes of town portal and identify, quivers of arrows and bolts, keys, and throwing weapons. Values are fully customizable through D2RMM’s settings panel, up to a hard limit imposed by the game engine itself. The author has confirmed the true ceiling is 511, since the game reserves only 8 bits for an item’s quantity field in both memory and save files — no amount of configuration can exceed that number.

Reign of the Warlock compatibility and known limitations

Version 1.4 added Reign of the Warlock support. An earlier version 1.3 fixed a bug where bolt-type quivers were not affected by the stack increase, traced to a single-character code typo that had been silently excluding bolts while arrows worked correctly. The 511-item hard cap applies regardless of configuration, and there is no built-in toggle to fully disable stacking for one item category while keeping it for others — a player wanting that level of control has to edit the mod’s own configuration lines directly.

Installing Increase Stack Size for D2RMM

The official Increase Stack Size for D2RMM download is hosted on Nexus Mods. With D2RMM installed, extract the mod folder into the D2RMM /mods/ directory, enable it, configure the per-item stack sizes, and click Install Mods before launching Diablo II: Resurrected. Players running a custom loot filter that renames tomes or keys have reported conflicts that were resolved by adjusting this mod’s position in the D2RMM load order.

Known issues

One installation error citing a missing misc.txt file was resolved by unchecking the “Use Pre-Extracted Data” option in D2RMM before reinstalling. A Steam Deck user reported scrolls not stacking despite a successful-looking install, a report that has not been fully explained or resolved on the mod’s page. Two feature requests remain open: a toggle to disable stacking entirely for one item type without editing code, and an option controlling whether dropped items spawn already at full stack size, which one player raised as an economy-balance concern.

Who this mod is for

Increase Stack Size for D2RMM suits any offline or modded player tired of juggling multiple inventory slots for portal scrolls, identify scrolls, arrows, bolts and keys. It pairs naturally with the same author’s Expanded Stash, Expanded Inventory, Stackable Runes and Stackable Gems mods for players building a full storage overhaul, and its per-item configuration keeps the change as targeted or as broad as each player wants.

D2 Horadric editorial view

Increase Stack Size for D2RMM is a mature, widely used addon — first released in 2022 and still receiving updates in 2026, including Reign of the Warlock support and a real bug fix for bolt quivers. The author is transparent about the game engine’s hard 511-item ceiling rather than letting configuration settings imply a higher cap, and the handful of open community reports are minor or configuration-level rather than signs of an unmaintained mod.

Key Features

  • Raises the maximum stack size for tomes, quivers, keys and throwing weapons, up to 500 by default
  • Each item category can be configured independently through D2RMM's settings
  • v1.4 added Reign of the Warlock support
  • v1.3 fixed a code typo that had excluded bolt-type quivers from the stack increase
  • Absolute hard cap of 511 per stack, confirmed by the author as a game-engine limitation (8-bit quantity field)

Requirements

  • Windows PC installation of Diablo II: Resurrected
  • D2RMM Mod Manager
  • If using a loot filter that renames tomes or keys: adjust this mod's D2RMM load-order position if conflicts appear

Pros

  • Mature, widely used mod (2022–2026) with roughly 1,519 Nexus endorsements
  • Per-item-type configuration lets players target exactly which categories stack more
  • Author transparent about the true 511-item engine ceiling rather than implying an unlimited cap
  • Real, acknowledged bug fix history (bolt quiver typo) rather than silence on past issues

Cons

  • Hard-capped at 511 per stack regardless of configuration — a game-engine limitation, not a mod setting
  • No built-in toggle to fully disable stacking for a single item type without editing configuration code
  • Can conflict with loot filters that rename tomes or keys
  • May require load-order adjustment
  • One unresolved Steam Deck report of scrolls not stacking despite a successful-looking install
