About Increase Droprate for D2RMM

Increase Droprate for D2RMM is a gameplay addon for Diablo II: Resurrected that raises the chance of rarer items dropping, aimed at offline and single-player runs where the vanilla grind can be long. It changes drop rarity distribution only — item stats, monster difficulty and the game’s other systems are untouched.

Built by olegbl — the same author behind Expanded Stash (16×13) for D2RMM, Stackable Runes for D2RMM and several other D2RMM addons — this D2RMM drop rate multiplier mod requires D2RMM and was first uploaded in February 2022, most recently reaching v1.4 on 13 February 2026. Nexus itself tags the mod “Gameplay,” “Unbalanced” and “Quality of Life” — a fair summary, since it deliberately shifts drop rarity in the player’s favor rather than staying close to vanilla odds.

How the drop rate changes work

The mod exposes configurable rune drop rates for medium- and high-tier runes, and adjustable rarity weighting for unique, set and rare equipment. The author has been explicit on the mod’s community page that it changes rarity distribution, not item quantity — it does not increase how many runes or items drop overall, only the ratio between common and rare outcomes within what already drops.

Reign of the Warlock compatibility and known limitations

Version 1.4 added Reign of the Warlock support. Rarity rolls in Diablo II happen late in the drop process: if a given base item type has no unique variant defined, setting the unique-item rate to its maximum still cannot produce one, since a unique roll with no matching unique to award falls through to a lower rarity instead. Several players also reported seeing few or no set items even at default settings; the author has pointed out that on Normal difficulty many item bases simply aren’t accessible yet, which limits what the mod’s rarity weighting has to work with regardless of configuration.

Installing the mod

The official Increase Droprate for D2RMM download is hosted on Nexus Mods and requires D2RMM version 1.2 or newer. With D2RMM installed, extract the mod folder into the D2RMM /mods/ directory, enable it, configure the rune and rarity settings, and click Install Mods before launching Diablo II: Resurrected. The author has confirmed that unchecking or re-enabling this mod in D2RMM requires clicking Install Mods again for the change to take effect — a general D2RMM behavior, not specific to this addon.

Known issues

An early version briefly allowed a 0% droprate setting to be selected, which behaved unpredictably; v1.3 fixed this by flooring the option at a near-zero value instead of a true zero, a change documented on the Increase Droprate for D2RMM download page’s own changelog. A report of a character seemingly “locked” to lower-level drops after using the mod turned out to be an unapplied D2RMM setting rather than a bug in the mod itself, and the author has confirmed the mod does not touch item level requirements at all. No Reign of the Warlock–specific issues have been reported since v1.4.

Who this mod is for

This mod suits offline or modded players who want a faster, more rewarding loot pace without touching item stats or monster balance directly — particularly useful for players revisiting the campaign on single-player or solo self-found style runs. Because it openly shifts rarity odds away from vanilla, players who want to preserve the original game’s drop balance should treat this as an optional difficulty-easing tool rather than a neutral quality-of-life fix, and can review the exact settings on the Increase Droprate for D2RMM download page before installing.

D2 Horadric editorial view

This addon is a mature, widely used mod — first released in 2022 and still receiving updates in 2026, including Reign of the Warlock support. Its rarity-rolls-late-in-the-process behavior and its difficulty-dependent item-base availability are both real mechanical quirks the author explains clearly rather than hides, and the mod is honest about what it is: a deliberate rarity-rate multiplier for players who want it, not a vanilla-preserving quality-of-life patch.

Key Features

  • Configurable drop rate for medium- and high-tier runes
  • Adjustable rarity weighting for unique, set and rare equipment
  • Changes rarity distribution only — does not increase the overall number of items or runes that drop
  • v1.4 added Reign of the Warlock support

Requirements

  • Diablo II: Resurrected
  • D2RMM (Mod Manager) version 1.2 or newer

Pros

  • Mature, widely used mod (2022–2026) with roughly 2,565 Nexus endorsements
  • Fully configurable rune and equipment rarity settings rather than a single fixed multiplier
  • Author transparent about exactly what the mod does and does not affect (rarity, not quantity or item level)
  • Real bug (0% droprate setting) was identified and fixed in v1.3

Cons

  • Deliberately shifts drop odds away from vanilla balance — self-tagged "Unbalanced" on Nexus, not a neutral quality-of-life change
  • Unique-item rolls still depend on a unique variant existing for that base type, regardless of configured rarity
  • Set-item availability is also limited by which item bases are accessible at the player's current difficulty
  • Exact default multiplier values are not published on the mod's own page
