About Perfect Drops for D2RMM
Perfect Drops for D2RMM is a gameplay addon for Diablo II: Resurrected that forces item affixes to roll at or near their highest possible values, removing the reroll grind for offline and single-player runs. It changes how affix values are rolled — it does not add new stats, items, or content beyond what the base game already defines.
Built by olegbl — the same author behind Increase Droprate for D2RMM, Expanded Stash (16×13) for D2RMM and several other D2RMM addons — this D2RMM affix maximizer mod requires D2RMM and was first uploaded in February 2022, most recently reaching v1.11 on 18 February 2026. The author compares its effect to “perfectly Divining every item” in Path of Exile: rather than adding anything new, it sets an item’s minimum possible affix roll equal to its maximum.
How the Affix Tiers modes work
The mod exposes an “Affix Tiers” setting with three modes. Normal keeps the vanilla tier distribution intact but maximizes the value within whatever tier an affix rolls. Equalize makes all affix tiers equally likely to appear, rather than weighting toward common lower tiers. Perfect forces the highest possible affix tier to spawn whenever one is available. The author has been explicit that this only reaches as far as the game’s own item generation allows — it does not invent affixes or tiers the base game doesn’t already support.
Reign of the Warlock compatibility and known limitations
Version 1.10 added base Reign of the Warlock compatibility, and v1.11 extended support to RotW’s property groups. Two mechanical limits stay outside the mod’s reach regardless of version: staff-mods cannot be modified through softcode and are therefore unaffected by any Affix Tiers setting, and items re-rolled through the Horadric Cube don’t receive perfect affixes either, since — per the author’s response to a player question — vanilla cube recipes don’t route through the same generation logic as a fresh drop.
Known affix and gambling issues
A pinned community report describes a tier-conflict edge case: when an affix’s highest tier is only obtainable on magic items while rare items cap out at a lower tier of that same affix, setting Affix Tiers to Perfect can prevent rare items from spawning with that affix at all, since the mode pushes toward a tier rares can’t reach. The author has acknowledged this as a known issue without a fix timeline. Separately, players have reported rare gloves failing to spawn with the “+2 to Amazon Skill Levels” affix while the mod is active — it returns when the mod is disabled — and gambled boots and gloves occasionally rolling an affix’s second-highest tier instead of its highest, alongside charms not always reaching the maximum magic find percentage available for their prefix tier.
Installing the mod
The official Perfect Drops for D2RMM download is hosted on Nexus Mods and requires D2RMM version 1.6 or newer. With D2RMM installed, extract the mod folder into the D2RMM /mods/ directory, enable it, choose an Affix Tiers mode, and click Install Mods before launching Diablo II: Resurrected. The author has confirmed the mod works with the game’s DLC content, and distributes it under a permissive MIT-style license that allows modification and reuse, with the exception of paid mods or Steam Workshop packaging — players who want the exact terms can check the license section on the Perfect Drops for D2RMM download page.
Who this mod is for
This mod suits offline or modded players who are tired of rerolling the same item dozens of times chasing a top-tier affix, and who would rather spend that time playing than grinding drop RNG a second time on top of the drop itself. Because Perfect mode removes a meaningful slice of Diablo II’s itemization randomness — arguably more than a drop-rate change does, since it touches the value of nearly every affix rather than just how often items drop — players who want to preserve vanilla itemization variance should stick to Normal mode or skip the mod, and can review all three modes on the Perfect Drops for D2RMM download page before installing.
D2 Horadric editorial view
This is a mature, actively maintained addon — first released in 2022 and still receiving compatibility updates in 2026, including support for Reign of the Warlock’s property groups. Its rough edges are real and openly discussed rather than hidden: a still-open tier-conflict bug, a reported missing affix on rare gloves, and a few gambling-specific quirks. Because Perfect mode reaches further into the game’s core itemization loop than a simple drop-rate multiplier, D2 Horadric treats it as a more significant balance shift than most of this author’s other storage- and rate-focused addons, worth knowing before installing rather than something to enable by default.
Key Features
- Affix Tiers option with Normal, Equalize and Perfect modes
- Forces item affix values toward their maximum within the chosen mode
- Reign of the Warlock property-group support since v1.11
- Works alongside other D2RMM addons from the same author
Requirements
- Diablo II: Resurrected
- D2RMM (Mod Manager) version 1.6 or newer
Pros
- Removes the itemization reroll grind for offline/single-player play
- Three configurable modes (Normal/Equalize/Perfect) instead of one fixed behavior
- Actively maintained with 2026 Reign of the Warlock updates
- Author responsive to bug reports and feature questions
- MIT-style license allows broad reuse
Cons
- Unresolved tier-conflict bug can block certain affixes from spawning on rares in Perfect mode
- Reported missing Amazon-skill affix on rare gloves while active
- Gambling and charm affix rolls don't always hit true maximum
- Cube-rerolled items don't receive perfect affixes
- More significant itemization-balance shift than a typical QoL addon, so not a neutral drop-in for players who want vanilla itemization variance
