About Increase Sunder Charm Drops for D2RMM

Increase Sunder Charm Drops for D2RMM is an endgame addon for Diablo II: Resurrected that makes Sunder Charm drop rates configurable instead of fixed, and can optionally widen where those charms drop from at all. Sunder Charms let a character punch through a monster’s elemental or physical immunity, so how often they drop matters a lot to endgame build planning.

Built by Jobus (Jobus0) — the same author behind Rune Easy Upgrade for D2RMM — this D2RMM Sunder Charm drop rate mod requires D2RMM and was first uploaded in September 2022, most recently reaching v2.1.2 in June 2026, with 809 endorsements. Nexus categorizes it under “Gameplay.”

How the drop-rate multiplier works

The mod’s core setting is a Terror Zone Droprate Multiplier, where 1.0x matches vanilla drop odds and the default is set to 5.0x. The author has shared rough math for these values directly in the community posts: a multiplier of 5 works out to roughly a 20% drop chance from an eligible Terror Zone unique, while 0.5 is closer to 2.5% — giving players a concrete sense of how far from vanilla the default setting actually sits. A separate equalization feature also rebalances charm-type frequency, addressing a vanilla quirk where Cold, Fire, and Lightning Sunder Charms drop more often than the Physical variant.

Expanding beyond Terror Zone uniques

By default, Sunder Charms only drop from Terror Zone unique monsters. Two optional toggles widen that: adding Sunder Charms to the loot tables of regular Act bosses and mini-bosses, and adding a small chance to the global Hell-difficulty loot pool so any Hell monster can drop one. The author has clarified in community posts that with default settings, Latent Sunder Charms — which fully replaced the older Sunder Charm items in the Reign of the Warlock expansion — are limited to Heralds at the mod’s increased rate, and only appear from ordinary monsters once the global loot pool option is turned on.

Version history and expansion support

The mod has gone through substantial rework since 2022: v1.4 added rarity variance for patch 2.6, v1.5.0 added Reign of the Warlock support, and v2.0.0 was a full rebrand — renamed from its original folder name to the current one, with configuration reworked around the Terror Zone multiplier system. That rebrand required existing users to manually delete the old mod folder and reinstall, since internal setting IDs changed and old configurations couldn’t carry over automatically. v2.1.0 added compatibility for a later game update, and v2.1.1–2.1.2 were metadata and stability fixes. The full version history is listed on the Increase Sunder Charm Drops for D2RMM download page for anyone updating from an older release.

A fixed bug and one still-open report

A June 2026 game patch briefly broke the mod outright — charms weren’t dropping even at extreme multiplier settings — and the author confirmed the issue and shipped a fix within a day. Separately, an August 2026 report described Hell-difficulty bosses and Heralds dropping no items at all with “Add to Boss Loot Tables” enabled, which went away when that option was disabled. The author tested the same configuration without reproducing the problem and asked the reporting player for their treasureclassex.txt file to investigate further; no public resolution is documented yet, so anyone enabling that specific option should watch for reduced boss drops as a known possibility.

Installing the mod

The official Increase Sunder Charm Drops for D2RMM download is hosted on Nexus Mods and requires D2RMM; it only takes effect when the game is launched through the D2RMM launcher, not a normal game shortcut. Extract the mod folder into the D2RMM /mods/ directory, enable it, set the Terror Zone multiplier and any optional loot-table toggles to taste, and click Install Mods before playing. The mod permits modification, conversion, and redistribution with author credit, including use in donation-earning derivative mods, but not in commercial projects — full terms are on the Increase Sunder Charm Drops for D2RMM download page. It’s built for offline single-player use and has no bearing on any online mode.

D2 Horadric editorial view

This is a long-running, actively maintained addon that directly reshapes one of the endgame’s more consequential drop tables, and the author has stayed unusually engaged with players’ math questions and bug reports across years of updates. Because it touches drop odds for an item that solves an entire category of build problems, it sits closer to the balance-altering end of this catalogue than a purely cosmetic or pacing tweak — but its scope stays limited to one item type, its defaults are moderate rather than extreme, and every option is fully configurable for players who want a lighter touch.

Key Features

  • Configurable Terror Zone Droprate Multiplier for Sunder Charms (vanilla 1.0x, default 5.0x)
  • Optional Add to Boss Loot Tables toggle for Act bosses and mini-bosses
  • Optional Add to Global Loot Tables toggle for a small chance from any Hell monster
  • Charm-type frequency equalization between Physical and elemental variants
  • Reign of the Warlock and Latent Sunder Charm support since v1.5.0/v2.0.0

Requirements

  • Diablo II: Resurrected
  • D2RMM (Mod Manager)

Pros

  • Directly addresses a well-known endgame itemization bottleneck (Sunder Charm scarcity) with fully configurable rates rather than a fixed override
  • Author has shared concrete drop-chance math for the multiplier setting
  • Years of active maintenance with fast turnaround on breaking-patch bugs (fixed within a day in June 2026)
  • Charm-type equalization fixes a genuine vanilla imbalance between elemental and physical variants

Cons

  • Meaningfully alters endgame item-hunting difficulty for a build-defining item category, so it's a deeper balance change than a purely cosmetic or pacing mod
  • One community report of reduced Hell boss/Herald drops with "Add to Boss Loot Tables" enabled remains publicly unresolved as of the last documented exchange
  • v2.0's rebrand required existing users to manually reinstall and lose prior settings
  • offline-only, requires launching through D2RMM specifically
